What's cookin'?
In progress: a Comtois stallion named Willem, and Layla, an Arabian mare. Sometimes sculptures just "happen". Layla is one of those, I didn't plan her, but here she is anyway.
The Comtois is a ruggedly charming French medium weight draft breed. Because he is such a bulky guy, I am sculpting Willem with Sculpey Firm, a polymer clay, instead of epoxy putty. Sculpey stays soft and workable until you heat it up. Boiling is one of the less conventional methods to cure the clay.

Awesome
Apollo and I went for a ride on the stormy beach today. It was awesome!
Instead of having a proper winter, here in the Netherlands we are experiencing a kind of endless November, a continuing parade of storm and heavy rain. Apollo doesn't mind, he is an optimist. He is almost done shedding his winter coat and he loves a bit of wind blowing through his mane. He just knows it, spring is coming!
Try to sculpt a hairdo like this on a model horse...

Fausto is shipping
The first Fausto castings have reached their owners! It looks like we can get some extra copies from the mold, these will become available when we reach the end of the edition.
Thank you all for your enthusiasm for this piece! I will release a second version, with braided mane and tail, later this year.
