Fred & Ginger

In progress: Fred and Ginger. Fred is the angrily stamping fellow with the not-so-breed-specific looks, Ginger is the big boned, apple-bottomed Dutch Draft girl who is in a very athletic mood.

Their size is best described as large mini, however silly that may sound.

These are still just a rough draft... ;)
I have no information yet on the release date, edition size, pricing, etc.

Najiim

The irresistible Arabian gelding Najiim, sculpted by Brigitte Eberl. This one has been customized slightly before I painted him.

Najiim is not for sale.

Gomez

Just finished. Gomez, the Spanish stallion sculpted by Deborah McDermott. He reminds me of the stately rider statues that can be found in the old cities of Europe.

Gomez is not for sale.

Faran painted by Carol Williams

One of the best things about releasing your sculpture in resin is seeing it painted by others. When I stumbled across these photos on Carol's website, my heart leapt. My Faran, masterly painted by one of the hobby's finest.

Finishwork and photography by Carol Williams. Photos are used with permission.

Go Yago!

A quick in-progress photo of the #1 Artist's Proof Yago in sooty buckskin. This is one of my favorite horse colors; a myriad of dappling and shading, yummy toasty browns, and then those bright golden undertones...

When he's done he will be treated to a little trip to the beach for a more serious photo shoot.

By the way, if you are attending Breyerfest this week and you haven't seen Yago in person yet, be sure to visit the Mountain View Studios booth in the covered arena. They will have an unpainted Yago casting on display.

NAN reserve champion!

Artist's Proof #2 Faran, named Anduril, attended the North American Nationals model horse show in June 2013 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and came home with the Reserve National Championship in his breed class of 33 horses!

He also got a Top Ten in his workmanship class. Congratulations to his owner, Beth Rappleyea.

Allergerand

Eight Dutch artists from Katwijk, (yours truly included) were invited by ASK, the artists association of Siegen, Germany, to showcase their work in an exhibition in Siegen.

The exhibition was opened on May 19 and can be visited until June 16. My paintings and wire sculpture, all are horse-themed, hang beautifully alongside the amazing and diverse work of the other artists, Gerard Brouwer, Niek van der Plas, Daniel Tavenier, Ageeth van den Oever, Joop van Egmond, Riet Rosier and Dick Hogewoning.
The diversity of styles and materials led to the title Allergerand, which means as much as "a sundry".

A big "thank you" to the people of ASK, Stadt Siegen, Gemeente Katwijk and of course my fellow artists from Katwijk who made this trip an unforgettable experience.

Mercurio

This is Mercurio, an Iberian stallion sculpted by Brigitte Eberl. The balance and action in this sculpture are brilliant, and what a face he has!

Not for sale.
